LED Emergency Amber Lighting

Date Posted:9 January 2019

Why do people need amber emergency vehicle lights?

LED Warning Lights are used for a number of reasons, including but not limited to the following:

Increased visibility. When amber lights are attached and operated on a vehicle, that vehicle becomes immediately more visible to both other road users and pedestrians. When working in dark or busy areas, this visibility provides an extra layer of protection.

The use of amber lights helps to distinguish between general road vehicles used by the public and more official vehicles, such as those used for work or official voluntary tasks.

Awareness. When used for emergency vehicles, amber lights can create awareness for other road users and encourage them to give way to a vehicle that is moving towards the scene of an accident. Additionally, lights allow other road users to know when they are approaching the scene whether its road construction or that of an accident, and to take the necessary care as they approach the area. This is often seen with Tow Trucks attending roadside accidents and breakdowns.

Safety. The extra lighting provided by amber emergency vehicle lights can provide illumination to road crews and other workers.

In addision, amber LED lights have to be efficient enough to meet a number of purposes as well as meet certain requirements and regulations to be used on public roads.

You might ask what kind of amber lights are available? Can I install them on my vehicle?

If you’re going to install amber lights, then you will be pleased to know that there are a wide range of options to choose from that can suit all vehicles and purposes. It is important to know that if you are going to fit LED Warning Lights to your vehicle or fleet that you use your due diligence and ensure you meet all legal requirements for the colour and light you plan to use.

As for the type of light to choose, we went ahead and broke down our amber strobe lights into the following categories:

Dash Lights

Deck and dash lights offer huge power and, importantly, huge longevity. They fit to a variety of surfaces across a vehicle and have bulbs that can last for up to 100,000 hours. These are a highly sought after style of lighting for unmarked vehicles including Private vehicles, security vehicles as well as traffic control and more.

Mini light bars & Beacons

Mini light bars & beacons are among the easiest kind of light to install and are usually powered by the cigarette lighter on your vehicle. However, don’t underestimate the power and brightness that these lights can provide; they can still provide all the illumination you might possibly require. Mini light bars & beacons cant be overlooked; they provide an excellent source of light and can pulse, rotate and flash as required. We would suggest looking at the Base6 Micro Lightbar.

LED Light Bars

Full-size bars will usually cover most, if not all, the top of your vehicle, providing complete coverage and an extra source of the light. Most of these lights are extremely powerful and come complete with a number of ‘flash patterns’ that are sure to catch the attention of those nearby. They can be used as traffic advisory systems or any other purpose that needs to take advantage of their 360° light patterns. We would suggest looking at the Soundoff Signal Armarda Bar or our new entry line of CVP Lightbars

LED Grille / Surface / Perimeter Lights

As the name suggests, these lights can be mounted to the grille of a vehicle to help provide visibility to oncoming traffic and light the way of the vehicle’s driver. Similar to led hideaway strobe lights, grille lights are slightly larger for more lighter coverage. Lights within this category also cover surface mounted lights to increase the posibilities endlessly.

The majority of the lights that we sell are suitable for a variety of different purposes.
